1st EUFEPS Conference
on
"Optimising Drug Delivery and Formulation"
New Challenges in Drug Delivery
Organised with APGI
September 29 - October 1, 2003
Paris/Versailles, France
Subject
of the conference
In 2001, “Rational Design of Drug Materials and Drug
Delivery Systems” was the theme of the EUFEPS Decennial Anniversary
Conference. Aware of the value of this scientific domain, EUFEPS decided that
a new conference series should be established. Today, “New Challenges
in Drug Delivery” constitutes the true launching of a new EUFEPS series
on “Optimising Drug Delivery and Formulation”. It has been
organised with active collaboration of APGI. The Conference has identified
new and strong emerging topics in the area of drug delivery covering several
subjects, ranging from physico-chemistry to clinical and regulatory aspects.
Important objectives included: Identifying new targets at the molecular and
cellular level; understanding barrier transport and diffusion mechanisms;
and conceiving new drug delivery and targeted systems, including the use of
tissue and cells for peptide and protein release. Clinical and toxicological
aspects of new drug delivery systems were also covered.
